This policy is our general privacy policy. Any specific information we require from you in respect of a particular application in addition to what is set out here, and how we collect and use that information, will be detailed in the relevant application form (including inline application forms and insurance application forms) and this policy should be read in conjunction with any such document.

The terms “we” and “us” refer to Money Supply Co Limited and “you” refer to any person accessing this website or any of our services.

Provision of Personal Information

Personal Information is information about an identifiable individual and can include address and contact details, information about credit history and employment details – any information from which an individual can be identified.

You do not have to provide us with any information but if you choose not to provide us with the information we ask for, we may not be able to assist you or provide for you with any services.

When you access our website, or apply to use our services, you agree to the terms in this policy including the collection, use, disclosure and storage of your Personal Information.

Personal Information we collect and why we collect it

When you apply to use our broker services you will need to complete an application form and provide us with personal information about yourself, including financial information.

The finance and insurance companies with which we work will often require specific information in order for them to assess your application and also to complete other legal obligations they have (such as under the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009) and so we may also need identification documentation.

We collect this information in order to complete applications for finance on your behalf.

How we collect, use and store your Personal Information

We collect Personal Information from you when you apply to use our services. This information is collected from you directly but we may also need to collect information about you from third parties, including financial information from credit reporting agencies (such as Equifax and Centrix) and other relevant persons such as your bank. We may also collect information from organisations when completing identity verification as part of an application process.

We collect, hold, use and disclose information that you provide us to do any of the following purposes:

  • process any application you make to access our services and provide you those services
  • prepare any application on your behalf to a finance company in accordance with your instructions to us
  • respond to a request for information from a finance company in connection with any application made on your behalf
  • provide you with information about our services
  • communicate with you and provide the services requested
  • manage and enhance our services
  • meet any legal obligations we have
  • investigate any suspected breach of our terms of use or any suspected unlawful activity.

Your personal information will be stored on the cloud. We will engage third party service providers for this purpose. Any third-party service provider we engage to store your information is subject to confidentiality obligations and appropriate security and handling arrangements. When any personal information is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected, it will be deleted.

Sharing and Disclosing your Personal Information

You agree that we can share your information with third parties where that is necessary for any of the purposes set out above and where it is required by law. We will not disclose your Personal Information to any third parties except in these circumstances or as set out in any other agreement.

You agree we can share your information with:

  • any person we need to in order to provide you with the services you have requested and in accordance with your instructions, including with any potential creditors to make an application for credit on your behalf and insurance companies when seeking insurance cover for you
  • any credit reporting bureau
  • any authority or agency where we are required by law to provide it and we believe that the party is properly authorised
  • service providers such as web hosting providers, IT administrators, payment processors
  • debt collection agencies and law firms in the event you breach our Application Terms and Conditions.

We do not disclose personal information to entities based outside of New Zealand, except in the event we transfer your personal information to a cloud storage provider. In that event the information is transferred solely for the purpose of hosting and storing data and is not used by the storage service provider.

We require all third parties to protect Personal Information from unauthorised use or disclosure.

Keeping Personal Information secure

We take all reasonable steps to keep your Personal Information safe and keep it secure. However, you should be aware that information that is transmitted over the internet is not always secure.

We maintain reasonable safeguards to protect our website from unauthorised access and from the unauthorised use, disclosure, alteration or destruction of information we hold.

We don’t give your Personal Information to anyone else except as set out in this policy and in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.

If you believe there has been a breach of your privacy, please contact us as a matter of urgency so we can address it.

Your Rights

You have the right to access any Personal Information we hold about you and to request that we correct any mistakes or inaccuracies in it.  We will respond to your request as soon as we reasonably can and in accordance with the Act.

If we don’t agree to make a change you request, you can ask us to include a note on your Personal Information saying you asked us to amend it.
